Royal Van Zanten unveils numerous innovations at Trade Fair Aalsmeer

10 Nov 2023

It was raining novelties at Royal Van Zanten’s stand at Trade Fair Aalsmeer. For example, the nominated glass tulip, Sollinea®, was not only on display at the Royal Van Zanten stand, but this spoon-shaped pot chrysanthemum was also exhibited at the Novelty Square.

Many shades of yellow
Especially in the yellow segment, Van Zanten Breeding presented many new cut flowers, such as the canary yellow Statice ‘Canary Sun Bird’ and the long-lasting cut chrysanthemum Leto. Also the familiar variety Bonita was dressed in a yellow jacket this year and could be admired under the name Bonita Sunny.

Van Zanten Breeding is making significant progress in its breeding activities, as within Charmelia’s it also introduced an innovative variety on the market. With the peach-colored Apricot, Royal Van Zanten perfectly complements the existing range of Charmelia’s.

“It is very special that we could showcase so many innovations this year,” said Rob van der Helm, Marketing Manager at Van Zanten Breeding. “We are always very critical of our new varieties and introduce them only if something new truly adds value. So, having so many introductions means that our breeders have done truly impressive work!”

What’s b(l)ooming today
In addition to all the new flower and plant varieties, Royal Van Zanten also launched the inspiration platform ‘What’s b(l)ooming today‘ earlier this year. At the booth, people could sign up for the newsletter of this platform, where they will be kept informed of the latest developments.

Rob: “We raffled off a dinner for two among the sign-ups from last week. It was very exciting as we received many registrations. The winner will be announced this week via our social media.”
