What would a greener and circular future look like for greenhouse horticulture? We are on a journey to seek answers together with Swiss start-up company Voltiris.
We recently set up a trial in our Rijsenhout location in the Netherlands to assess the potential to remove several less in-demand spectral components on the growth of Alstroemeria with special filters from Voltiris.
The best part is that what is removed would not be wasted and can be recycled. The removed light can be harvested and generate electricity to power plant growth. Our initial results show approximately 1-2 degrees lower plant temperature under the filters. Two birds with one stone, and more! What goes into the greenhouse stays in the greenhouse but better than that! We will follow the trial and give you more updates in the coming seasons. #wecaresoweact #sustainability #greenenergy
