Onings acquires New Zealand farm and lily operations of Royal Van Zanten

Onings Holland Flowerbulbs proudly announces the acquisition of several company divisions from Van Zanten Flowerbulbs as per October 1st, 2025. These include the flower bulb production farm in New Zealand and the sales office in Australia, together with the integration of the commercial activities related to lily bulbs grown in the Netherlands from crop 2025 onwards. Both Onings and Van Zanten stand for quality, service, and long-term relationships, with the common goal of supplying top-quality lily bulbs. This acquisition combines the strengths of both companies.

This strategic step enables us to offer our worldwide customers with an even better, wider range of high-quality varieties grown in both hemispheres, with a focus on double Orientals and OT hybrid lilies. Flower bulb production in New Zealand benefits from excellent growing conditions, resulting in highly vigorous flower bulbs full of energy, they produce the highest quality flowers for our customers.

In addition to global trade and locations in New Zealand and Australia, several members of the Van Zanten Flowerbulbs’ team will also transfer to Onings Holland Flowerbulbs. Their knowledge, capabilities, and network are crucial for a smooth integration and a solid foundation. They will continue to serve as trusted contacts for both suppliers and customers of Van Zanten Flowerbulbs.

Both companies are convinced that this acquisition will benefit the supply and sales of lily bulbs. At the same time it offers great opportunity in terms of product range and sustainability. In the forthcoming period both parties will be working hard to ensure a smooth transition, whilst maintaining the existing relationships of both companies with both care and personal attention.
