Internships 2023

For 2023 we have a list of potential projects for internships:

Effectiveness of the incompatibility system in Limonium
Are you intrigued by the biology of pollination? We have an interesting challenge for you.
What is the effectiveness of the existing incompatibility system in Limonium? How will it inform the development of new hybrids? Your work will be instrumental for our future breeding.
Period April-September. Location Rijsenhout NL

Phenotyping Alstroemeria populations to determine value of breeding parents
Do you have a keen eye for the appearance of plants? We are looking for students who can help in phenotyping breeding populations. Analyzing the data and calculating the breeding value of parental clones. Your work is important for targeted development of new hybrids.
Period April-September. Location Rijsenhout NL

Developing bio-assay for disease resistance in Alstroemeria
Are you interested in plant diseases? Do you want to have impact on the future of a crop?
We look for someone to work with our phytopathology and breeding experts to develop a bio-assay for screening breeding populations against an important disease.
Period April – September. Location Rijsenhout NL

Investigating the pollen viability in relation to climate conditions in Alstroemeria
Are you intrigued by the biology of pollination? Do you have a keen interest in data analysis?
An interesting challenge to establish a baseline of pollen viability in relation to climate conditions is awaiting for you!
Period April – September. Location Rijsenhout NL

Pilot pollination of ornamental crop in climate room
Do you have an interest in plant physiology and growing plants in fully climatized rooms? We are ready to kick-off an exciting project to overcome challenges in seed production. Be part of the future of seed production.
Period April – September. Location Rijsenhout NL
