Charmelia® flower variety charming judges at PROFLORA 2017

9 Oct 2017

The Charmelia® flower variety was the grand recipient of two awards at PROFLORA 2017, the top fresh flower trade show in Bogota, Colombia. Charmelia® won 1st place for “Best in Category” and the highest award the “Grand Champion”, over all other flowers in the competition. Flower varieties were judged based on their technical specs from longevity to color. Charmelia® charmed them with its unique qualities:

– Long-lasting vase life; up to 3 weeks
– Crown shape design
– Multiple blooms per stem; 20+
– Remarkable long leaves that do not drop
– Color changing blooms

“We are very excited and proud to see Charmelia® win this great honor. It has been a joint effort between breeder, grower, marketers and retailers to get where Charmelia® is today. We hope to see Charmelia grow in the industry and in the hearts of consumers.” – said Juan Camilo Herrera, Marketing Director at Jardines de los Andes, the exclusive grower for Charmelia® for the Americas.

Everything about Charmelia® speaks elegance. Its flowers are bright pink and white, with a touch of green. The further Charmelia® blooms, the pinker she will become. This new cut flower variety bred by Royal Van Zanten, is part of our beloved Alstroemeria family, giving her beautiful bell shaped blooms. Charmelia® can be used in different ways; as a single stem in a beautiful vase or as a semi focal in mixed floral arrangements. Its beauty is charming and its color makes it stand out from all the rest.
