To help bringing our Chrysanthemum breeding to the next level, we are looking for a
Breeder Chrysanthemum, A visionary and passionate commercial plant breeder
Your responsibilities
As breeder, you will be responsible for the development of Chrysanthemum varieties and several breeding projects for Chrysanthemums within our organization.
You develop a long-term vision and breeding strategy, based on the latest market developments and using novel breeding technologies. Together with our senior breeder, you design and execute germplasm development, breeding and screening trials and make data-driven decisions.
You will work in international and multidisciplinary teams, with colleagues in sales, marketing, production and research functions. As our trials are conducted internationally, travelling is part of your job. The breeder reports directly to the Director Breeding & Development and is based in The Netherlands.

You are proactive and work well with international colleagues in research, sales and operations. You are motivated, and able to develop and contribute to a successful team.
You are enthusiastic with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong vision. You see new opportunities and can make strategic choices.
Your strong analytical skills enable you to analyze breeding data and market trends efficiently and translate these into targeted breeding projects.
You are familiar with novel breeding technologies and know how to implement these in the breeding projects.
You have experience with the relevant IT applications.
We are looking for candidates who
- Have a university (or higher) degree in Plant Breeding and/or Plant Sciences
- Have a strong desire to become a ‘rock star’ in Plant Breeding; experience in vegetables and/or ornamental crops is an advantage
- Have a good command in English and (preferably) Dutch and are prepared to travel in the Netherlands (frequently) and internationally (about 3-5 times per year)
