During the VKC judging (Permanent Judging Committee) on Friday 1 May, 2009 in the Keukenhof, The Netherlands, Royal Van Zanten won the Pot Chrysanthemum Award with its yellow cultivar Mount Talang.

This year, many types and colours of very high quality were entered for this competition. Royal Van Zanten was one of the companies that entered its innovative assortment for approval by the panel of VKC judges. All entries were marked with a 9 or higher. With 9.65 points, Mount Talang was the best, thus winning 1st prize.

The Award was given to the Mount Talang cultivar because of its excellent proportion between flower and plant, the sturdiness of the plant and its frivolous look!

Apart from winning the Pot Chrysanthemum Award, Mount Talang was also voted the Best Pot Chrysanthemum of the Keukenhof.
